Aromatherapy

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic plant extracts used in aromatherapy, where aroma interacts with the limbic system — the part of the brain governing mood and emotion. That connection is why certain scents feel calming, uplifting, clarifying or grounding. Our range spans single oils and blends for diffusing, massage and the home.

Working with essential oils

  • Calming — lavender, chamomile and bergamot, traditionally used to support relaxation and restful sleep; see Sleep Support.
  • Uplifting — citrus oils such as sweet orange and grapefruit, to refresh a space.
  • Clarifying — peppermint, eucalyptus and rosemary, traditionally used for focus and clear breathing.
  • Grounding — frankincense, cedarwood and vetiver, often used for meditation and winding down.

How to use them safely

Essential oils are highly concentrated. Diffuse into the air or dilute in a carrier oil for massage — never apply undiluted to skin, and do not take internally unless under qualified guidance. Patch test first, keep away from eyes, and take particular care in pregnancy, with children and around pets, as some oils are not suitable.
