What is Biome Lift?
Biome Lift is a targeted probiotic for mood and emotional wellbeing — a category sometimes called "psychobiotics", probiotics studied for their effects on mood through the gut–brain connection.
How it works — the gut–brain axis
The gut and brain are in constant two-way communication via the vagus nerve, immune signalling and the metabolites that gut bacteria produce — including precursors and modulators of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and GABA. Specific bacterial strains can influence this signalling, which is the basis for using a probiotic to support mood. Biome Lift combines Lactobacillus plantarum LP01, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LR06, Bifidobacterium longum 04 and Lactobacillus fermentum LF16 (1 billion CFU each) — a specific quartet studied together over a six-week human trial examining measures of low mood, fatigue and sleep quality.
