What is Biome Perinatal?

Biome Perinatal is a probiotic for the perinatal period — preconception, pregnancy and postpartum. Its strain selection looks beyond the mother alone to the wider perinatal picture, including the microbiome a baby is seeded with at birth.

How it works — maternal balance and infant seeding

A baby's first microbiome is established at birth and in early feeding, and is influenced by the mother's own microbiome. Supporting the maternal microbiome through pregnancy is therefore studied as one influence on that crucial first seeding — which is why this formula combines strains relevant to maternal wellbeing, the vaginal microbiome (relevant around birth) and infant gut establishment.
