What is Basica Active?

Basica Active is a mineral and acid–base support formula. It supplies the major alkalising minerals together with supporting vitamins and trace minerals, designed to be taken daily to help counter the acid load of a modern diet and to maintain general mineral status.

How it works — why citrates, not carbonates

The minerals here are delivered largely as citrates, and this is deliberate. Citrate is metabolised in the body to bicarbonate — the body's principal buffer — providing sustained acid–base support without neutralising stomach acid or disturbing digestion (the way an antacid would). A diet heavy in processed food, animal protein and coffee generates a continuous metabolic acid load; Basica is formulated to help offset it with minerals rather than antacids, while the minerals themselves support bone, muscle, nervous-system and metabolic function.

• Calcium 400mg, magnesium 187mg, potassium 300mg, sodium 150mg. The core alkalising mineral buffer.
• Vitamin C 80mg, zinc 5mg, riboflavin 1.4mg. For energy production and antioxidant support.
• Chromium 40mcg, molybdenum 50mcg, selenium 30mcg. Trace minerals supporting carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism.

How to take it
