Essential oils are concentrated aromatic extracts of plants — their scent, captured. Used in aromatherapy, they're valued for the way aroma interacts with the limbic system, the part of the brain that governs mood and emotion, which is why certain scents can feel calming, uplifting or grounding. Our range spans single oils and blends for diffusing, massage and the home.
Essential oils are highly concentrated. Diffuse into the air, or dilute in a carrier oil for massage — never apply undiluted to skin, and do not take internally unless under qualified guidance. Patch test first, keep away from eyes, and take particular care during pregnancy, with children, and around pets, as some oils are not suitable.
How does aromatherapy work? Scent molecules reach the olfactory system, which connects directly to the limbic brain — the seat of emotion and memory — which is why aroma can shift mood quickly.
Can I put oils directly on my skin? Not undiluted — always blend with a carrier oil to avoid irritation.
Which oil for sleep? Lavender is the classic, traditionally used for relaxation and restful sleep.
