BioClinic Naturals Ubiquinol 300mg — High-Strength Reduced (Active) CoQ10

Ubiquinol 300mg provides coenzyme Q10 in its reduced, biologically active form at a high therapeutic dose, formulated to support cardiovascular health and cellular energy production — the form best suited to adults over 40 and those taking statin medication.

Per capsule: ubiquinol (reduced CoQ10) 300mg · one capsule daily · softgel · practitioner-grade.

What is Ubiquinol 300mg?

This is a high-strength CoQ10 supplement that uses ubiquinol — the active form of coenzyme Q10 — rather than the cheaper, more common ubiquinone. At 300mg per capsule it is a therapeutic-strength preparation, not a token maintenance dose.

How coenzyme Q10 works

Coenzyme Q10 is an essential component of the mitochondrial electron transport chain — the pathway responsible for the majority of cellular ATP (energy) production. It is most concentrated in the most metabolically demanding tissues: the myocardium (heart), liver, kidneys and skeletal muscle. CoQ10 also acts as a lipid-soluble antioxidant, protecting cell membranes and circulating lipoproteins from oxidative damage. Endogenous production peaks in early adulthood and declines steadily thereafter.

Why the reduced form (ubiquinol)

CoQ10 exists in two states: ubiquinone (oxidised) and ubiquinol (reduced, active). Most supplements supply ubiquinone, which the body must convert to ubiquinol before it can be used. This conversion becomes less efficient with age, and is further impaired by statin medications — which independently suppress the body's own CoQ10 synthesis. Supplying ubiquinol directly removes the conversion step, which is why it is the more appropriate form for adults over 40 and anyone taking a statin.

Who it may suit

Adults focused on heart and cardiovascular health; people taking statin medication; those over 40 noticing reduced energy; active individuals with high energy demand; and anyone wanting strong antioxidant support.

How to take it

CoQ10 is fat-soluble, so absorption improves markedly when taken with a meal containing fat. As it supports energy metabolism, daytime dosing is generally preferred. One capsule daily; plasma levels build over several weeks of consistent use.

Complementary nutrients

Commonly combined with omega-3 fish oil, magnesium and selenium within a cardiovascular protocol.

Precautions

Coenzyme Q10 may interact with anticoagulant and antihypertensive medications. Those taking these, or any prescribed medication, should consult their practitioner before use.
